HEAD OF FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Financial Accounting based in our head office. The successful candidate will be reporting into the Finance Director to provide accurate accounts for the company.

Key Responsibilities;
• Manage a finance team to provide accurate financial records efficiently for all internal, external and statutory reporting
• Ensure financial governance and control for all aspects of the business in line with IFRS, including;
- Key controls including regular balance sheet reconciliations
- Fixed asset register and work in progress records
- Claims and recoveries provisions
- Lease accounting
• Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Liaise with the Treasury team to plan and implement working capital targets which will improve the cash flow.
• Production of working capital ‘bridges’ and cash flow analysis, including cash flow forecasting.
• Production of statutory accounts and liaison with company auditors on all accounting and tax matters for the three London companies.
• Ensuring all month-end / annual deadlines are met and working alongside the Head of Management Accounting to ensure all reporting to the parent company is timely and accurate.
• Leadership and development of the accounting team
• Continuous improvement throughout the finance department, identifying and implementing best practise initiatives.
• Provide required reporting in relation to Office of National Statistics returns, Monthly Business Surveys and CSR returns.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience;
• Fully qualified accountant with experience in a financial controller role for a smaller business or as a number two in a large business
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong people and team management skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-finance colleagues.
• Advanced PC Skills including knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

We’re looking for someone outgoing and confident, who is experienced in office administration to join the team. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Assist the PA(s) with the management of the Managing Director and Directors’ diary commitments.
• Arrange local and international business trips/travel on behalf of the Directors.
• Deal with calls, emails, faxes and post, and respond and act upon these as appropriate.
• Be the first point of contact for suppliers, contractors, deliveries, and any other internal and external customers.
• Manage and maintain the London transport museum passes.
• Be responsible for purchasing stationery and goods for the department.
• Manage and maintain effective office systems including recycling, the phone list and filing.
• Organising meetings and events (ranging from charity cake sales to award ceremonies), and arranging teas, coffees and lunches when required.
• Support and cover for the PAs when required.

SCHEDULES COMPILER

We are currently looking to recruit a Schedules compiler for our head office in Busways House. The successful candidate will need to compile efficient and effective time and duty schedules, both for tendering and operational purposes, taking into account reliability, acceptability and cost.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Producing time and duty schedules to tight deadlines both for tender preparation and company / garage requirements
• Preparation of rotas, drivers’ duty cards and other essential documentation associated with the service provided by the Department
• Undertaking analysis work using Hyperion software, including running time and service quality analysis
• Accurately estimating abilities to establish key requirements for London or commercial tendering opportunities
• Manage and maintain the multiple databases dependant on schedules data robust and ensure the information is accurate at all time
• Adhere to and promote the Company’s health and safety policies and procedures
• Undertake any other reasonable task or projects assigned by your manager

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Schedule compiling experience, both manually and with mainstream software packages however an opportunity at trainee level is available for candidates with the right skill set but no scheduling experience

• Confident in dealing with vast amounts of numerical data, with the ability to produce meticulous, accurate results, whilst working under pressure

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Finance business partner to garages within the London group.

• Improving finance understanding within the business, assisting budget holders in understanding spend and variances to forecast.

• Improving data capture and reporting across the business. Looking at processes, accuracy, timeliness and completeness.

• Development of reporting including weekly flash reports, SUS pay reports and use of the QlikView reporting tool.

DIMENSIONS:

The Finance Business Partner will lead a small team providing information on a variety of aspects for the RATP DEV London business. This is a very diverse opportunity for someone looking to step straight into an analytic and business focused role. The successful candidate will be confident and personable as well as work in an honest manner. This role will be based in London with occasional travel to subsidiaries within the country.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Essential

• ACA/CIMA/ACCA fully qualified or equivalent. Experience in providing a comprehensive business partnering service to a wide and dynamic range of stakeholders.
• Commercially minded with an ability to influence projects and business decisions.

• Evidence of taking ownership and ability to prioritise and deal with a wide range of activities while meeting tight deadlines.
